Frequently Asked Questions
How does the credit system work?
Each engine run costs 1 credit. Free tier includes 50 credits per month. Pro ($29/mo) includes 500 credits. Credits reset monthly.
What's the difference between the 7 engines?
Each engine maps to a stage in the publication lifecycle: Paper Radar (Idea) → Literature Review (Review) → Research Proposal (Hypothesis) → Empirical Research (Data) → Paper Write (Draft) → Cover Letter (Submit) → Reviewer Response (Revise).
Are the citations real?
[UNVERIFIED CITATION] markers mean the AI model generated a citation it cannot verify against a real database. Click any marker to search Google Scholar and confirm the reference. We never present unverified citations as confirmed.
Can I export to Word or LaTeX?
Yes! After any engine run, use the Export toolbar below the AI response. You can download as Word (.docx), LaTeX (.tex), or BibTeX (.bib). The Word export preserves headings, lists, and highlights unverified citations.
What journals are supported in the Style Guide?
We support 30+ journals across Accounting (TAR, JAR, JAE, RAST, CAR), Finance (JFE, RFS, JF), Economics (QJE, AER), Management (MS, SMJ), CS (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL), Psychology, Medicine, Law, and more. Each guide includes citation format, word limits, and special requirements.
Is my data private and secure?
Your data is stored on Alibaba Cloud Singapore (encrypted at rest). We do not train AI models on your data. Your research stays yours. API calls to the AI provider do not retain your content.
How do I get more credits?
Upgrade to Pro ($29/month) for 500 credits, or contact us for Lab ($99/mo) and Department ($199/mo) plans with higher limits and team features.
Can I use Research OS for non-English papers?
Currently optimized for English academic writing. The AI performs best with English-language research, though it can handle bilingual references and some non-English content. Full multilingual support is planned for a future release.
